Pulled Pork Topped Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup shredded gouda
  • 3/4 cup shredded white cheddar
  • 3/4 cup shredded gruyere
  • 1 lb elbow noodles
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 cup bbq sauce
  • 2 cups pulled pork

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow noodles per package instructions.

  2. Melt butter in a large skillet or saucepan. Once butter is completely melted add flour. Let this mixture cook while stirring constantly for two minutes.

  3. Slowly add milk to the flour base while stirring. After adding all of the milk add the cream.

  4. Stir over medium heat until the sauce begins to thicken this can take 5-10 minutes.

  5. Add nutmeg, onion powder, and shredded cheese. Stir gently until the cheese is completely melted.

  6. In a separate pan heat the pulled pork and mix in the bbq sauce.

  7. Add cooked elbow noodles to cheese sauce and mix well. To serve place mac and cheese in individual bowls and top with reheated pulled pork.
